maze pictures' first international feature film, Rupert Everett’s directorial debut THE HAPPY PRINCE starring Colin Firth and Emily Watson, was successfully presented at Sundance Film Festival 2018 followed by a worldwide release. GUNS AKIMBO, an action comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe premiered 2019 in Toronto and is a worldwide success in particular on Amazon. SIBERIA by Abel Ferrara starring Willem Dafoe premiered at Berlinale 2020. Ethan Hawke starrer ZEROS AND ONES, the latest film by Abel Ferrara, recently premiered at Locarno Film Festival 2021 and was awarded Best Directed Picture to Abel Ferrara. maze pictures contributed Julia von Heinz’ MY FATHERS to the anthology feature ISOLATION which premiered in Venice Film Festival in 2021. The action-comedy KUNG FURY 2 starring Michael Fassbender and Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently in post-production.
In 2018, the Italian German mini-series co-production MALTESE broke Italian rating records. Three seasons of the French-German TV series THE CRIMSON RIVERS, a collaboration with StoriaTV, ZDF, France2 and ZDF Enterprises have been broadcasted with record breaking ratings in France and Germany, the fourth season is in production. Two seasons of maze pictures co-developed and co-produced German-Dutch-Norwegian Fantasy TV series HEIRS OF THE NIGHT won acclaimed kids and youth awards as “Der Goldene Spatz” and “Der weiße Elefant”. Season three and four are currently in development.
